Coverage

What we write

Six lines, one person to call. Ask about bundling — many clients combine policies.

Auto

Full coverage or state minimum, priced against how you actually drive — and a walk through what your liability limits really cover.

Home

Roof, wind and hail included. Ask about your wind/hail deductible — it's the number most people never check until there's a claim.

Renters

Replace everything you own, plus liability — and it bundles cleanly with your auto policy.

Life

Term or permanent, sized to what your family actually owes and earns — not to a round number someone made up.

Umbrella

Extra liability that sits on top of your auto and home for the day a claim gets bigger than the policy underneath it.

Small business

General liability, property, and the trucks and trailers you run. Built for the shops and contractors around Springfield.

Tommy is the best insurance agent I have ever worked with. He set us up with better coverage and saved us thousands! Beyond that, his communication is top notch.

I had the same car insurance for 15+ years, and was determined to never switch, but they offered better coverage and a lower deductible, for the same price as I'd been paying!
Jessica F.Google review
I wasn't happy with Progressive. He called, gave me a great deal with a personal touch I didn't get with the other insurance company. 5 stars!!!!!

From our first conversation and every other one in between, Tommy has been great. He has a great personality that meshes well with his insane knowledge about insurance. He was truthful, had patience…

He's really friendly, answered all the questions I had and was very knowledgeable — he was able to cut my monthly payment in half.

About Tommy

The agent behind the agency

Tommy Keehl opened his American Family Insurance agency on South Delaware Avenue in September 2023 with a simple conviction: insurance should be something you actually understand. Three years in, that’s still how the office runs — Tommy walks you through your coverage line by line, in plain English, until the policy in your hand makes sense. It’s the thing his Google reviewers mention most.

The industry has noticed too: the agency has earned All-American honors, AFLIC qualification, and the Peak Harvest award every year since opening — 2023, 2024, and 2025.

Away from the office, Tommy is a husband, a dad to a young son, and a man of faith. Ask him about any of the three and you’ll be there a while.

“Tell us your dreams, and we’ll make sure to protect them.”

How it works

Three steps, no fine print

  1. Reach out

Call, text, or send the quote form — two minutes, no obligation.

  2. Talk it through

Tommy or Kat walks you through what you have, what you actually need, and what it costs — plain English, line by line.

  3. You decide

No pressure. If what you already have is right for you, he'll say so.

Springfield, Missouri

Springfield weather writes its own insurance chapter.

After the April 2026 hailstorm, a lot of Greene County homeowners discovered the fine print the hard way — many policies now carry wind and hail deductibles set as a percentage of your home’s value, not a flat dollar amount, and the difference can be thousands out of pocket. Tommy reviews that line with every homeowner he quotes.

If you’re not sure which kind yours is, that’s exactly the kind of question the office picks up the phone for.

Questions

Fair questions, straight answers

What does a quote cost?

Nothing. Quotes are free and come with no obligation.

Will I end up talking to a call center?

No. You'll reach Tommy or Kat at the Springfield office — the same two people every time.

Does submitting the form mean I'm covered?

No — coverage can't be bound or changed through this website. The form starts a conversation; Tommy will call you to do the rest.

Why do you need my date of birth and address?

They're what carriers require to price a real quote. Without them we could only guess — and Tommy doesn't quote guesses. Your info is used to prepare your quote and contact you, nothing else.

I already have insurance. Is switching a hassle?

It's usually much easier than people expect — Tommy handles the transition details, and reviewers regularly mention how painless the switch was.

What kinds of insurance do you write?

Auto, home, renters, life, umbrella, and small-business. Many clients combine policies — ask Tommy whether bundling makes sense for your situation.

Do you only serve Springfield?

Springfield is home base, but Tommy is licensed in ten states: AZ, ID, IA, KS, MI, MO, ND, OH, UT, and WA.

Is my information safe?

Yes — see our privacy policy. Your details are used to prepare your quote and get in touch, are never sold, and you can ask us to delete them.
